I have been plagued for 40 or more years with cracked sore finger tips in the winter time. I suppose the stresses of winter temps and dry skin are the conditions for this cracking.
Well, I was plagued apparently until this year!
Knocking on wood as they say, so far, but my finger tips skin has been the best ever this winter! Only thing which I can think of that I did different than all those years ago was start supplementing myself with a raw, crude, cold-pressed Safflower oil which is a High Omega-6 Linoleic ACID (LA) fatty acid seed oil. The omega-6 linoleic acid is what our skin is largely made of.
The problem with our modern generations is that we have plenty of Omega-6 LA in it, but it is adulterated! This adulteration occurs because the food industry wants to treat the crude Omega-6 LA with heat and/or hydrogenation or esterification in order to change the molecular structure, so it will have a longer shelf life at the grocery stores. Adulterated Linoleic acid does not work well in our bodies as a substitute. It has all types of toxins in it and screws up the membrane integrity of our skin.
