I would have Lobelia inflata always on hand too,,,,,,just like cayenne. In fact, Dr. Schulze calls it the "Queen of the herbs". The key is to make a strong potent tincture and that requires the seeds and lobelia inflata seeds are very small and expensive! I would either look to Schulze or the Eclectic Medical doctors of the 19th century unto to make proper potent lobelia tincture or do a combination of the formula.
Schulze does it this way:
Quote:
"To make lobelia seed tincture, apple cider vinegar must be used. A blend of two-thirds 40% ethanol and one-third raw organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar worss great. remember the most potency is from the seed pods, not the leaf! Vinegar is important for this tincture. For all other herbal tinctures except Super-tonic demonstrated on tape, use alcohol and not vinegar."
The Eclectics use this formula:
Lobelia seed (grind to powder).....................100 grams
40% ethanol.......................500 ml
acetic acid (vinegar)...........50 ml
Dr Christopher's formula:
Tincture of Lobelia:
2 oz of upper herb (stem, flower, leaves)
2 oz of crushed lobelia seed
1 pint of apple cider vinegar
Macerate in a closely stoppered bottle for 10-14 days. Shake every time you
walk by it or at least once a day. Strain off the liquid and bottle.
Acid tincture of lobelia:
2 oz of crushed lobelia seed
.5 oz of lobelia upper plant ground
1 teaspoonful cayenne
1 pint of apple cider vinegar
Process same as tincture.
